The updated Fourth Element Xerotherm is now available as dedicated Men's Leggings for improved fit and comfort to make it the ultimate baselayer. Xerotherm garments are designed to be worn beneath a main undersuit for membrane suits or can be worn by itself under a neoprene drysuit.
The leggings are stitched using flat seams for comfort against the skin and a high waist band to ensure a good overlap of the top and leggings, preventing any cold gaps from developing during your dive. Your feet fit into a loop that prevents the legs from riding up during the dive..
Xerotherm is made using Polartec® Powerstretch® which was originally developed for NASA and effectively traps a layer of air - a much better insulator than water - next to the skin, keeping the wearer drier and more comfortable.
The knit of the Xerotherm fabric produces the fastest wicking effect of any of the products in the fourth element product range. Moisture is drawn out through the fabric along fine fibres and then spreads out over the outer surface. This maintains a thin layer of air next to the skin. This is so effective in the Xerotherm that some wearers report experiencing minor suit leaks during the dive without
even noticing until after the dive.
