Mares XR 25X DR Regulator Set

The Mares XR 25X DR Regulator Set is a matched pair of 25X first stages and DR second stages, configured for DIR twinset specifications. The 25X was specifically designed for technical, twinset and stage use with left and right-handed versions for optimal hose routing and the DR second stages use a full metal housing, valve and front cover design for exceptional cold-water performance.

The Mares XR 25X first stages use a high performance balanced diaphragm design with an environmental seal for improved cold water performance and contamination protection. The body features just two low-pressure ports and one high-pressure port so that hoses are perfectly routed down the side of the cylinder, keeping them out of the way and streamlined. The first stage also incorporates a heat exchanger to help dissipate the extreme cold generated at gas depressurises from the cylinder pressure to intermediate pressure.

The Mares XR DR second stages continue on the same cold water performance principle with a full metal housing that acts as one big heat exchanger and helps to significantly reduce the chance of expected ice formation and free flow under heavy use. The front cover design helps to restrict water movement around the diaphragm, preventing currents or sudden rushes of water from affecting that diaphragm and causing the valve to open or flutter. An external bypass tube running from the valve to the mouthpiece helps to deliver highly gas flows whilst also acting to create a low-pressure area behind the diaphragm during inhale that further improves gas flow and the responsiveness of the second stage.
