The Atomic M1 first stage uses flow-through balanced piston design for excellent performance and a mix of chrome plated marine brass and more exotic materials such as Monel to create a balance between affordability and durability.
The main body and other components are made from chrome plated brass like most other first stages but where it differs is on the inside. By using some unique designs and materials Atomic are able to create a very reliable first stage that has a long service period and lifetime warranty that isn't contingent on proof of service.
Atomic using Monel for key internal components which is a Nickel / Copper alloy. It has some properties that are very desirable for regulators including excellent subzero characteristics and the ability to withstand oxygen fires making it ideal for use in high oxygen content gas mixes.
The first stage is fitted with five low pressure ports on a swivelling turret at the end of the first stage and two high pressure ports, one on each side of the main body.
