Atomic Scuba Heat

The Atomic Scuba Heat is a personal thermal protection device for you and your regulator that works by heating the air as it travels from your first stage to second stage, protecting your second stage from freezing and free flows even in extreme cold conditions. It is also achieved with no moving parts, no batteries and no heating elements.

The Scuba Heat coil mounts on your cylinder band in between your first and second stage. As air from the first stage enters the coil, it is instantly warmed by the surrounding water, then exits the coil toward your second stage. The heat-exchanging coil is made of a special thermally conductive and corrosion-resistant copper nickel alloy that will not reduce air flow or otherwise degrade your regulator performance.

As well as prevent freezing and free flow, Scuba Heat also helps your body on a cold dive too. Breathing cold air during a cold dive forces your lungs to warm up the air as it passes into the blood stream, increasing energy expenditure. Exerting this much energy can result in Cold Stress, a condition that can lead to hypothermia and a decrease in coordination, reflex and dexterity.

Scuba Heat has been independent laboratory tested to effectively prevent second stage freeze-up in the most extreme circumstances that are not even possible for a scuba diver to achieve. 200' depth, constant 3000 psi supply tank pressure, 34°F/ 1°C water and breathing rate of 62.5 RMV1 for a duration of 30 minutes.
